GARDEN SECRETS Lino Printing: A Creative Day at Chester House
Thursday 14th May 2026 | 10am – 4pm Looking for a creative way to welcome spring and start 2026 on a fresh note? Join me at the beautiful Chester House Estate for a full day of 'Garden Secrets' lino printing. It’s a wonderful chance to switch off, meet some lovely like-minded people, and let your creativity blossom in a relaxed setting as we capture the hidden life of a British garden. We’ll be turning those everyday visitors—from cheeky robins to busy blue tits—into striking pieces of handmade art using traditional carving and inking techniques right here in Northamptonshire.

I recently attended Jamie’s Lino class held at Chester house. I’d give it 5*. The day was relaxed with a great atmosphere. Jamie, as always, was a fantastic and patient teacher. "I attended Jamie's Lino printing class at Chester House on Saturday Feb 21st 2026. Jamie made everyone feel welcome and clearly explained the format of the day and the equipment we would be using. Jamie demonstrated how to transfer our chosen template onto the lino and how to safely use the cutters to carve out our drawings in the lino. He showed us examples of his own work for inspiration. Jamie is a great teacher, he's patient and helps to break things down into simple steps. If you're not feeling too confident he's very supportive and encouraging and he's always on hand to answer questions, give creative advice etc. I really enjoyed the day, I met new people, we chatted and laughed together which made it feel relaxed and welcoming. Lunch & refreshments were provided too - a nice tasty addition to the day! I was pleased with the outcome of my print and took home several prints in different colours - definitely got my moneys worth 😀 If you've not done a workshop like this before, I definitely recommend giving it a go - you'll leave with a smile on your face!" - Sasha

You’ll sketch your ideas using beautiful springtime wildlife as your creative springboard—think birds, blossoms, and all the signs of a fresh new season.
Create your prints:
Carve your lino blocks and explore two-block printing—a wonderful way to add colour, depth, and character to your artwork. Some may focus on striking single-colour designs, while others can try layering and colour mixing for extra impact.
Take home your creations:
You’ll leave with a set of stunning prints—perfect for gifting, sharing, or displaying with pride as a reminder of your creative start to 2026.
Enjoy a creative day out:
All materials are provided, including three printing presses, a range of quality inks and papers, plus a delicious lunch with plenty of goodies, tea, and coffee.
Please bring your own apron to protect your clothes and add a bit of your own personality to the creative day!
