Art Class Student Work
Welcome to the Adult Art Class Gallery!
In our classes we cover a wide range of topics and techniques exploring both the basic and more advanced approached to learning how to draw and paint. I really enjoy working with a variety or skills and teaching my students what I have learnt know about art. We have used everything from acrylic paint, oil pastel to collage, charcoal, pencil and even biro pens! Everyone learns together and shares ideas in friendly environment in Raunds, Irthlingborough and Denford near Thrapston.
Exciting Artists and Genres
The fantastic art work below shows how my students learn from a wide variety or exciting artists to broaden knowledge of the art world. This has included landscapes, portrait and still life as well as abstraction or more representational styles. Students usually start the ten week course with drawing skills using pencil and other drawing materials. This builds observational drawing skills and boosts confidence as I teach everyone how to achieve accuracy and a more developed understanding or tone and shadow.
Art Exhibition
Every year usually in September we hold an art exhibition at Irthlingborough Methodist Church on Carnival day. All students are invited to show one piece of work if they wish. It gives the class a chance to share each others achievements and for the public to have a great day visiting and buying art. This show also includes the work of other local artists including myself and it gives you the opportunity to meet with members of the other art groups.
You Are Welcome to Join Us!
If you would like to learn how to paint or improve your art skills you are welcome to a join one of our art classes! Please get in touch with me to find out more details and ask questions. Class sizes are between 10-15 students and lessons run for two hours each week. Materials are available to borrow during lessons if you are a new to art, but you might want to buy a sketchbook and some pencils to get started.
