Original Handmade Collage Artworks

The natural world and poetry are my main sources of inspiration particularly that of John Clare. I really enjoy seeing my pictures emerge on the board as I work they are a realization of ideas which are carefully planned using photographs, patterns and of course my own experiences in the countryside and beyond in the United Kingdom.

I made this painting in 2020 using collage papers I created and printed out. My main materials are paper, glue and a scalpel blade which I use to layer and cut to form the composition. Often the main feature such as the animal or bird are made separately first by layering different coloured paper all of which have the words of poetry already printed on them..
