Happy New Year Everyone!
I am really looking forward to getting stuck into some new exciting work this year using lino printmaking techniques as well as collage. Printmaking just makes me feel both inspired and excited so its time to try it out more in 2022.

It always seems the case that as an artist you have more ideas than you can achieve in the time you have. So I usually find it helpful to have a theme or focus for the year. This year I have decided to look at 'seaside' as the theme as this can encompass so many subjects that alot of people enjoy, including me! In the sketchbook department I will be developing portraits ideas using collage. The idea is develop a 'painterly' free style - we will see what happens.
Exhibitions January 2022.

To start off the new year I will exhibiting at the newly refurbished Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. In fact I already have work on display in the main gallery upstairs. I have the priveledge of being part of the Northampton Town and County annual art exhibiton. This show is only on until 15th January so if you can make a visit as there is  a wide variety of superb local talent on display. Then of course there is the superb new coffee shop afterwards.

I was really pleased to be selling my Christmas Cards in the shop at the Museum this year and will be displaying around five of my paintings in the Selling Gallery from January to March alongside some prints! I hope you can drop by to have a look.

The Nene Valley stretches from West Northamptonshire all the way through Peterborough and has the  Nene river flowing through it. The landscape is surrounded by lush farmland and old villages with hidden footpaths connecting them together. I have always used this landscape as the basis for my artwork showing the wildlife and hills of my home.

My artwork frequently uses a range of mixed media techniques that have also incorporated words. In recent years this has become more important and now collage is a major part of my work which often uses words poetry. The lines  of various poems have been woven into my imagery - segments of which can be read.

The wide range of habitats such as wildflower meadows, wetlands, marshes, woodlands and wet grasslands are full of a diverse range of animals and birds. These offer endless inspiration for my artwork on a daily basis as I live right on the edge of a stunning nature reserve near the towns of Higham Ferrers, Irthlingborough and Rushden.
